SCHOOL

ADMISSIONS

We are delighted that you are considering Auckland College Independent School for your child.

Choosing the right school is probably one of the most important decisions you will make for your child and whilst we hope the information we provide on this website will give you a feel for our school we believe that you will gain so much more from visiting us and seeing how happy and fulfilled our pupils are.

We welcome pupils from across the Merseyside area, as well as Internationally, many of whom take advantage of our transport service, and as a small, family oriented school we have strong and positive relationships with our parents so that you are involved in your child’s educational experiences.

Auckland College accepts boys and girls from aged 3 years old to 16 years old on a non-selective basis. We welcome pupils of all faiths, cultures, races and family backgrounds and do not discriminate on grounds of diversity, gender, race or religion.

We are happy to admit a pupil with a disability as long as both parents and the school are in agreement as to the appropriate provision for the child’s specific needs.

We do our best to ensure that the necessary provision is made for any pupil who has special educational needs and those needs are made known to all who are likely to teach them. A separate document sets out the school’s policy on special educational needs.

The main point of entry is from 3-4 years of age into our Pre-Prep School, however we are able to admit pupils to any year group that has available space.

The school admits children into the Pre-Prep and Prep schools at any point during the academic year to suit the specific needs of the child and family. For admission to our Secondary School this may still be possible depending on examination preparations.

There is no formal quota for admissions as each year we adjust our provision accordingly. We operate a waiting list policy and applications for admission will be considered in the order in which they are received by the school and where a year group is already full, this will determine the position on the waiting list.

For those pupils who do not choose to continue on to our secondary school, we provide guidance and support for admission processes to selective secondary schools, and non-selective secondary schools in the area. We have a high rate of successful entrants from our Year 6 pupils to selective secondary schools.

For further information concerning fees please contact the Registrar in the School Office.

Inclusive in the fees for Pre-Prep and Prep is participation in our enhanced curriculum programme, breakfast club for 51 weeks, after school clubs for 38 weeks and holiday clubs for 13 weeks, along with all lunches and afternoon snacks throughout the year.

As the fees cover childcare costs, we are able to accept childcare vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare, and you may be eligible to claim tax credit childcare payments (subject to personal circumstances). Sibling reductions also apply.
