TIMELINE

1991

Park View Tuition Centre was developed in Princes Park Mansion by owners Anthony and Gillian Akaraonye

1993

The Tuition Centre moved to Welsh Chapel (Bethal Welsh Presbyerian Church) on Auckland Road, Wavertree

1995

An 11 year old pupil of the Tuition Centre suggests the school to be named Auckland College.

1996

Auckland College establishes at the Welsh Chapel and is registered with Ofsted with 60 students on roll.

1998

Interest grew by word of mouth, leading Anthony and Gillian to look for new premises for Auckland College.

1999

The School officially opened as a Senior school with 120 pupils on roll at the Parkfield Road site.

2001

The school grew with over 300 children in it’s senior school.

2006

Ms Boyd joined the school as a NQT.

2007

Auckland College obtained its tier four highly trusted sponsor licence with the UK VI.

This enabled international students to receive a high quality education in the UK, many of whom progressed to university and study both in the UK and abroad.

Our sponsorship status continues to help parents to study at university as we are able to offer education for their children.

2009

Auckland House Day Nursery opened at the Parkfield Road site, its first room being the old school canteen opposite the school office with just 5 babies.

2010

Auckland House reaches full capacity.

Interest in places for primary school age grew, leading to Auckland Preparatory officially launching.

2011

Owners Anthony and Gillian open Pepperberry Day Nursery in Wimslow.

2012

Pepperberry gains OUTSTANDING Ofsted status and reaches full capacity.

2013

Auckland College launches the Pre-Prep 3 – 5 Department.

2014

Auckland’s holiday clubs are thriving with Auckland children and external clients filling ratios daily, leading to Gillian and Katie Craig launching the 51 week wrap-around service in the Prep school, exclusive to children attending Auckland College.

Pepperberry is recognised for its contribution to charity and helping out in the community, resulting in its community award.

2016

Director of Operations Olimpia Malaescu opened Pepperberrys PreSchool department, preparing our children for school education at the highest standard.

2017

Co-founder Anthony is appointed to the board of governors at Liverpool John Moores University.

2018

Pepperberry achieves its Millie’s mark accreditation.

2019

Celebrating 20 years of service at the Parkfield Road site and the concept that the school has supported nursery pupils right through to senior.

Auckland College achieves its well deserved OUTSTANDING Ofsted status.

2022

Auckland College new website is built.
