During Spring Term 1, Year 1 pupils learned all about The Great Fire of London. They thoroughly enjoyed the topic and it was wonderful to welcome Merseyside Fire Service to our school on Friday 11th February to help the children compare modern methods of fire fighting with the methods used in The Great Fire of London. They got to explore the fire engine, talk to the fire fighters, ask lots of questions, and of course trial the hose. They found this much easier than passing the bucket along the line, as would have been done back in 1666.
